Re: Creating jad for OTA download

[ Edited ]

Thanks, but I have already looked at this thread before but I don't think it is related to the versioning problem that I am experiencing right now.

The super JAD file that is generated from other JAD files, includes this information (how it can be obtained automatically ?)

MIDlet-Version: 0.0
MIDlet-Name:  MySuperApp
MIDlet-Vendor:<Unknown>

You can set properties of a jad file via jadtool task of BB Ant Tools.

Check this: http://bb-ant-tools.sourceforge.net/docs#jadtool

In case you want to read information from jad files to process it later write your own ant task and use it along with BB Ant Tools.

Check this link for instruction: http://ant.apache.org/manual/develop.html

You can write Ant task on java, jad file is a simple text file. So it is easy.

Re: Creating jad for OTA download

Thanks this is exactly what I was looking for, it might help me with some other requirements also.

The project settings aren't added to the JAD by default (only to the ALX) files I don't know why it is happening. I am using eclipse with BB plugin for this btw.

OTA Installation for Storm:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

COD

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Application 'abc' has one big .cod file and is > 64K. I extracted it and it produced 6 .cod files.

abc.cod

abc-1.cod

abc-2.cod

abc-3.cod

abc-4.cod

abc-5.cod   > 64K

abc-5.cod is still greater than 64K

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JAD

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However abc.jad file has enteries of  7 cod files

RIM-COD-URL-6: abc-6.cod

RIM-COD-URL-5: abc-5.cod

RIM-COD-URL-4: abc-4.cod

RIM-COD-URL-3: abc-3.cod

RIM-COD-URL-2: abc-2.cod

RIM-COD-URL-1: abc-1.cod

RIM-COD-URL: abc.cod

While downloading it gives me "907 Invalid COD. HTTP error 404: Not Found" Error.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Urgent Help is required.

Re: Creating jad for OTA download

If you remove the reference of abc-6.cod in JAD file what happens?

It is suggested to create a new thread.
