Default NFC Behaviour when placing phone on NFC reader

Does anyone know what is responsible for responding when a BlackBerry is placed on an NFC reader device?

Essentially I am trying to develop my own virtual tag emulation application using the APIs and am getting some odd results from my reader (ACR122U) when using my app.

If my app is not running and I place my phone on the reader, the reader still registers the device, what is responsible for communicating with the reader at this point? I am interested in this because it may help debug the problems with my app. Thanks

Re: Default NFC Behaviour when placing phone on NFC reader

This sounds like expected behaviour.

For security reasons, virtual tags are only served when your application is in the foreground.

Other NFC capabilities are still enabled, for example, the BlackBerry will still emit a field to detect peers or read tags...
