Hello Everybody,
I've been searching this forum but didn't find anything of any help.
I tried to test email-newsletters using the new BlackBerry JDE 4.6.0 and its bundled ESS and Device Simulator.
I started the ESS in Standalone Mode and used Outlook Express to send and receive Messages.
Sending an email from the simulated device to Outlook works just fine but as soon as i try to send an email from Outlook, the ESS replies with
<Thu Oct 16 09:44:41 CEST 2008>: [42] :<DEBUG>:<LAYER = UDP, EVENT = Sending, SIZE = 217, SOURCE = , DESTINATION = localhost:19780>
failed to create udp packet
java.io.FileNotFoundException: c:\temp\udppacket.0.bin (The system cannot find the specified path)
(translated from german "Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden")
Yesterday I tested the same with the ESS from BlackBerry Email and MDS Services Simulators 4.1.4 and the Device Simulator from BlackBerry JDE 4.2.1. which worked perfectly well. But the BlackBerry Models in this JDE do not support HTML Email yet.
Can anybody give me a hint on what I missed? Does the MDS have to run too?
Or even better:
Is there a way to simulate 8800 and 8707 Devices with the device software updated to 4.5?
I am thankful for any kind of assistance.
Rauno
