I have tried to play an embedded video in the broser field. Its worked fine in the simulator. But not working in the real device. I am using 8900. When i opened the url in the default browser of 8900 its working perfectly. Is there any settings nedded for browser field to play the embedded video or audio?.
The url am trying is http://devweb.wizzpers.com/chat/seewizzper/wizzper
Another problem is the long time for playing the video in the default browser of the blackberry 8900. When i tried the same in android and iphone its taking 7-8 seconds to play. But 8900 takes 45-60 seconds.
My code snippet is as given below
VerticalFieldManager browserManager=new VerticalFieldManager();
BrowserField browser = new BrowserField();
Any idea regarding this problem?
Thanks in advance.

What BlackBerry device software version are you testing on (full 4 digits)? You can find this under Options, About on the BlackBerry Smartphone.
Was the same version used in the simulator and real device?

Thanks for your sugession,
My device version is
smartphone (EDGE, Wi-Fi)
v126.96.36.1991 (Bundle 1168, Platform 188.8.131.52)
Am using the same version in the simulator and device.
I tried the same with the deault url in the same project as
BrowserSession browserSession = Browser.getDefaultSession();
Its working fine. Thus i think its not the problem with the version, something related to the settings of browser field.

What services are available on the BlackBerry Smartphone (BES, BIS or both)? Is it connected via cellular, WiFi or both when you perform your testing?

Thanks for ur reply ,
We are not using any service like(BES or BIS), just using the wifi for both the simulator and for the smartphone .

What is the format of the video?

Hi Mark Sohm,
The video is in 3gp format.
Could you please try the url
The loading time is also too large when compared with other smart phones.

I am able to reproduce this issue. It's being caused by an issue with the BrowserField itself. I don't have a work around for this when using the BrowserField. You could launch the browser to display the page or play the video directly within your application using the Player class.
Our development team is aware of this issue, which should be resolved in a future BlackBerry Device Software release.
