The device should be in portrait mode when bringing up the virtual keyboard on the home screen.

OK, it still won't work unfortunately.

Mark, thanks for the info in this thread. RIM's KB article "How to access and extract the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone" (KB05349) doesn't talk about how to access the event log on a Storm 1 running 5.0. How do we request an update to that article?
Thanks again.

A ha, finally got it.
Thank you @Steve for giving finding that KB article (I keep forgetting about knowledge base).
I tried MSohm's post and, as stated previously, it didn't work. I looked at the KB article (How to access and extract the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone.) and tried the portrait method which didn't work, then I tried the landscape method (while in portrait) and success.
I am running a Storm 1 (9530) running OS 5.0.

I have requested an update to that article to add the information for 5.0.

I found a solution for those of you with the Storm2 with .607 update I tried the solution post listed 2 above, but it did not work for me.
I figured out that if I set the convenience key, and bring up the keyboard in portrait mode. The "lock" button will not work - it keeps bringing up the phone.
If I physically hold down the 123 button while pressing ,5,5 than the event log will come up. However after doing that I had some strange problem where I could no longer select anything using screen taps (only the bottom 4 and side buttons would respond) I'm doing a battery pull right now, maybe it was just a fluke.
But, physically holding down the 123 key while pressing ,5,5 will bring up the event log and allow you to clear it. This may also work for Storm users, not sure.

Weird, my Storm 1 got beat up on a vacation so I got a Storm 2 (running .607 aswell). Saw this thread pop up and decided to try it again.
If I simply type (' 5 ' 5) or (" / " /) it doesn't work. If I press and hold the 123 button and do (' 5 ' 5) nothing happens but if I do (" / " /) then the event log pops up.
Unfortunetly though I can interact with the Phone app and the event log everything else is frozen.
