Failed to connect to remote VM

First time Blackberry dev here.

I'm going through the Hello World example and run into a problem while launching the simulator. I select Run->Debug and receive the following error:

'Launching DebugServer' has encountered a problem. Failed to connect to remote VM

when clicking the details button, I get

Failed to connect to remote VM com.sun.jdi.connect.spi.ClosedConnectionException

I'm using BlackBerry JDE 4.5 and Eclipse SDK 3.4.1 (Ganymede) for development. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Failed to connect to remote VM

Try exiting eclipse and restarting.

I have problems when I terminate my simulator with anything other than 'disconnect' on the debug view.

Re: Failed to connect to remote VM

I have experienced the same error while beginning with the HelloWorldDemo as well, and I'm using the same software versions.  I've closed and restarted Eclipse.  Didn't eliminate the error.  I've rebooted my pc, restarted Eclipse.  Same error.  I've even uninstalled the JDK, Eclipse, and the Blackberry Eclipse Plug-in.  Still have the same problem.

Re: Failed to connect to remote VM

I come across this every once and a while, I orignally would restart Eclipse but realized I could just try again without restarting Eclipse. I have needed to try to restart the simulator more then once in order to get it going, if I can't get it after 3-4 tries I will close down other programs that I am runnng (not all of them but the ones that I know are memory/CPU intensive) and that will often fix the problem.

Re: Failed to connect to remote VM

Thanks for the input, but I tried that as well.  I even tried running ONLY Eclipse after a reboot, to no success.  The simulator just won't fire up.  Surely someone has seen this @ Blackberry and has a genuine solution!

Re: Failed to connect to remote VM

Eventually, i restarted my system and all the things started working.

but i fear this is not a permanent or accurate solution..
