Filesystemerror (12) when calling Application.setApplicationIdentifier()

Hi there,

when calling 'Application.setApplicationIdentifier()' for the first time, we get the following errors (seen in the eclipseconsole while debugging), while 'Dateisystemfehler' is the german translation for : 'filesystemerror ':

Dateisystemfehler (6)
Dateisystemfehler (12)
Dateisystemfehler (12)
Dateisystemfehler (12)
Dateisystemfehler (12)
Dateisystemfehler (12)
Dateisystemfehler (12)
Dateisystemfehler (12)

I've modified our code to call 'Application.setApplicationIdentifier()' twice and the second time we don't get this errors. But on every fresh start of the application this happens again.

The point where whe get this error ist before we connect to the sqlLiteDB.

Later in the Application we get this error at different points, for example on 'Application.startConnection()'.

Does anybody have a glue what happens here?

Btw: We use no sdCard.

Thanks in advance

Frank

Re: Filesystemerror (12) when calling Application.setApplicationIdentifier()

welcome to the support forums.

can you reference the method? i cannot find it in http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/7.1.0api/net/rim/device/api/system/Application.html
or is it a custom method?

is your application an autostart app or run manually?

Re: Filesystemerror (12) when calling Application.setApplicationIdentifier()

The class is: com.sybase.mobile.Application not net.rim.device.api.system.Application.

Our app must be started manually.

Re: Filesystemerror (12) when calling Application.setApplicationIdentifier()

and what framework are you using to develop the app?
only asking because you posted in the java forum.

Re: Filesystemerror (12) when calling Application.setApplicationIdentifier()

In fact we are usin the Java-API, but - and this was my mistake - the class in question where we get the error (com.sybase.mobile.Application) ist part of the Sybase Unwired Plattform (SUP).

So probably I have to look for an anwser at Sybase.

But nevertheless - how can I get the blackberry JRE to give me some more information than 'Filesystemerror(12)'?

Thanks Frank

Re: Filesystemerror (12) when calling Application.setApplicationIdentifier()

it seems to be the log message from sybase, there won't be much you can do to get more on it.
you could try the device log (alt+lglg) and see if sybase logs anything there, but i would not bet too much on it.

i have never worked with sybase, i would suggest you find out what kind of support they offer.

Re: Filesystemerror (12) when calling Application.setApplicationIdentifier()

There are lots of reports regarding filesystemerror(12) and filesystemerror(6) on BlackBerry, often when someone takes a photo.

The usual anser is: Remove the memory card and insert it again.

So it seems to be something with the hardware...

We have no memory card in our devices, so I assume there's a problem with the main flash memory.

Thanks Frank
