Fledge USB failure (DE345)

Anyone got this message ?

I get it every time I close the simulator (i tried several device simulators and they all act the same).

 it's (obviously) a handled error scenario since I get a

'Device error (DE345) - Blackberry Phone Simulator' widow with a 'Fledge USB Failure' errror written in it. (with options: 'exit', 'ignore', 'ignore all DE345s' and 'save log')

I choose Ignore and another one pops up (the same window) and I choose Ignore again.

So it's not a terminal error but is rather annoying.

Anyone have a clue?

Have you enabled Simulate USB Connected from the Simulator menu?  What version of BlackBerry handheld software are you simulating?  You can find this under Options, About.  What version of BlackBerry Dekstop Manager do you have installed?

Re: Fledge USB failure (DE345)

 - No.

What version of BlackBerry handheld software are you simulating?  You can find this under Options, About.

 - The device is 8810. Simulator version is 2.9.0.52

What version of BlackBerry Dekstop Manager do you have installed?

 - 4.6.0.12

 Sorry to bother you. It is probably a bug and I can repeat it at will.

I only happens when I use a double entry auto-started application with several (probably misconfigured) runnables.

When I clean the simulator (File->erase simulator file->erase file system) and then use another application everything is ok.

But when I clean it again (just to make sure no other of my auto-started apps is on the simulator) and use the first (double-entry) application, I get the same error.

I don't want to burden you into fixing my own bugs, but here is the (partial) code that caused this bug to activate.

public class Test_01 extends UiApplication

{

static private boolean fAutostart = false;

static private Test_01 theApp;

public Test_01()

{

fAutostart = true;

}

public static void main(String[] args)

{

theApp = new Test_01();

if (args != null && args.length > 0 && args[0].equals("gui"))

{

UiApplication.getUiApplication().invokeLater(new Runnable()

{

public void run()

{

theApp.settings();

}

});

} else

{

theApp.background();

}

theApp.enterEventDispatcher();

}

private void background()

{

System.out.println(":> Entering first entry");

if (fAutostart == false)

{

System.exit(0);

}

Background background = new Background();

background.run();

}

public void settings()

{

System.out.println(":> Entering second entry");

Settings settings = new Settings();

settings.run();

}

}

 Bassically, the idea is that the application auto-starts if some stored value (in this case a simplified and predefined fAutostart ) is properly set. And the second entry is used only for managing that application's settings (a simple screen with a few fields).

Thank you for taking care of bb forums community :smileywink:

Re: Fledge USB failure (DE345)

Are you able to reproduce this with the BlackBerry Simulator included with the version 4.6.0 BlackBerry JDE?  If so, please send a sample project that reproduces this error to devsupport@rim.com.  Thanks!

Re: Fledge USB failure (DE345)

Yes I can replicate the error message.  Running Eclipse with the Blackberry Plugin on Vista...

1. Right-click on Eclipse.exe, select Properties and click on the Compatibility tab.

2. If "Run this program as Administrator" is ticked the USB Fledge error will appear.  Unticking this option solves it for me.
