FocusControl - Camera Focus on Storm (Probably needs a blackberry employee)

JDE 5.0 Storm.

I notice that if you set camera focus manually, you can get the focus in mm using getfocus() according to the documentation.

My question is that if autofocus is set, is there a way to get the focus value that was determined automatically?

I don't see that it's possible from the docs (only if set manually). However, that value is stored somewhere internally, but calling getfocus will return AUTO instead of the actual value.

Is there any other API to get that focus values.

The app I want to write is one where you can take a photo and determine the size of objects in the photo based on the focus length. That can't be done with Autofocus on unless I can get the focus value used.

Thanks anyone.
