GPS/Location modes vs. criteria settings

There are lots of GPSInfo and LocationInfo modes for BlackBerryCriteria.

Does setup of a mode affect criteria settings?

I mean, like Horizontal/Vertical accuracy, Preferred response time, Power consumption, 

Cost allowed, Speed and course required, and so on?
