Get a picture from the device

JDE 4.5

I want my app to get a picture. I let the user decide whether he wants to use an existing picture, or take a new one with his camera. How do I do that?

P.S. Camera Demo doesn't work in JDE4.5/BB:8310

Re: Get a picture from the device

Have a look at the fileexplorerdemo included with the BlackBerry JDE and BlackBerry Java SDK.  It allows you to browse the file system and chose a file or invoke the camera and listen for a new image being taken.

Re: Get a picture from the device

Hi doom777,

A approach is to read the image data in a byte array and then create the Bitmap object with the method Bitmap.createBitmapFromBytes().

Take a look for the sample code  that  I wrote in this post.
