Getting address from location

Hi,

Wondering if we can get real address from longitude and latitude via maps? I'm thinking of getting the lon and lat, and reverse it to display the nearest town/city/country.

Issit possible?

You can use the REVERSE GEOCODING. there is an API form Google which returns address when you pass latitude and longitude as parameters.

the url is as such:

http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?q=" + latitude+","+longitude + "&output=csv&sensor=false&key=YOURKEY

is there anyway we can use BlackBerry's API instead of Google? Afraid they changed it and break the apps.

- Update : Found the required API at http://docs.blackberry.com/en/developers/deliverables/11944/Reverse_geocode_API_example_869857_11.js...

Will investigate further. :robotindifferent:
