By the way: if anybody needs advance info, directions, ideas about Amsterdam, let me know here (if it's of general interest) or via PM. I live nearby and am in Amsterdam a lot, so I know my way around.

If I can find the time I'll try to compile a little post with general tips later this week: public transport, where to shop, where to eat, where to drink, where to party etc ;-)

I'd be glad to benefit frop your general tips once you have posted them! Thanks a lot

Re: The Unofficial Guide to Amsterdam for DevCon Europe

Thanks, Jon, much appreciated! This guide should be declared as official!

Btw regarding transport, there will be an airport shuttle

http://www.blackberrydevcon.com/europe/registration/hotel-and-travel/travel

And this is probably also worth to mention:

"When checking in for the conference at the Amsterdam RAI, all BlackBerry DevCon Europe attendees will be given a complimentary two or three day travel pass (valid on trams, buses and the metro), which will enable you to explore the city at your leisure."

"When you become a level 3 developer, you learn to communicate over the ether. I'm told that level 5 developers are ascend into a higher level of existence beyond the physical realm." gord888 @ crackberry

[ Edited ]

There is no 4th metro line in Amsterdam. you probably mentioned 51th metro line (there are 4 metro lines - 50, 51, 53, 54 - I don't know why).

But yes, 4th tram is going to RAI!

I would also recommend Beer Temple cafe with many vareity of beers near Dam square. And probably two breweries - IJ and De Prael.

Also here is snow today!
