HTTPConnection errors

Hi,

I read almost every mail on this subject .... but still coudn't find the problem.... Let me just say that yes it's all working on Simulater where WifI is used ....

Yes I got "Tunneling Failed "  just like others , when trying to make connection to WebService url .....

I set my APN to "blackberry.net", which is the one my carrier gave me. They also said that I don't need that .... I'm also registered for BIS ...

So, because I couldn't make my connection I took the Network Diagnostic app that I took from one of the posts on this forum, regarding this kind an error ...

I will describe you what are the results and then put the question:

Here is the status from Network Diagnostic app:

Testing URL is the default one from the app:

Direct TCP (HTTP) : Tunnel Faied      URL :: http://www.google.ca:80/search?q=blackberry;deviceside=true

MDS (HTTP) :  MDS Coverage is not  available   URL :: http://www.google.ca:80/search?q=blackberry;deviceside=false

Unite (HTTP): No Unite   service records found

BIS-B (HTTP): Invalid URL parameter       URL :: http://www.google.ca:80/search?q=blackberry;***

WAP(HTTP): No WAP service record found

WAP2(HTTP) : OK    URL :: http://www.google.ca:80/search?q=blackberry;deviceside=true;ConnectionID=WAP2 trans

Can anyone tell me why is only WAP2 working ? Ok if something is not available .... sure it can't work ....

But I would expect Direct TCP nad BIS to work ....

Before this Network Diag app, I tried HTTPS DEMO app that comes with SDK ...... not working on device ....

I'm using BB 8900Curve ....ver 4.6.1.206

Regards,

Krispi

Re: HTTPConnection errors

For Direct TCP you need to find out what Internet-capable APN your carrier lets your account use (not blackberry.net). Then you need to enter the APN settings in Options -> Advanced Options -> TCP or explicitly pass to Connector.open(). Beware though that some data plans that include BlackBerry Internet access (via the blackberry.net APN) have no conventional Internet access APN is enabled.
