Help: Debugging on device using Eclipse

I am using 9000 Bold to develop an application. Runs good on simulator but failed on device.

I have to debug it on real device, after many hours of googling it almost worked.

When debugger started, it complained missing debug information for some OS files. Since I am not debugging OS so I ignored those warnings(Is this a problem?).

I set breakpoint and debugger does stop there. That is great! But I cannot see any value for any variables. Debugger caught exception, it says

"org.eclipse.debug.core.DebugException: com.sun.jdi.ObjectCollectedException occurred retrieving type".

What does this mean?

I am using JDE component 4.6.0 because Bold's OS is 4.6.0.

Thanks,

Chris

Re: Help: Debugging on device using Eclipse

The missing variable values are tied to the missing debug files.  These are required to see the variables.  Debug files are included with BlackBerry Simulators, so you can install a BlackBerry Simulator that matches your BlackBerry handheld software version.  If one is not available, you can print out your values using System.out.println statements.

BlackBerry Simulators can be downloaded here:  https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=060AD92489947D410D897474079C1477
