HomeScreenAPI / App Icon & Themes :- JDE 4.2

Hi,

I used the HomeScreen API to change my app icon, and it worked fine.

I changed Themes, and my App Icon Disappeared !!

Changed back to original theme, and the app icon is still missing (inspite of the app trying to refresh)

Is this a BUG in JDE 4.2 ?

Thanks

Re: HomeScreenAPI / App Icon & Themes :- JDE 4.2

Do you mean you no longer have an icon for the application at all, or that it went back to its default icon?

Note that some themes place application icons in their own folder.  What BlackBerry model and handheld software version are you testing on?  You can see this under Options, About on the BlackBerry.  What themes are you switching between?

Re: HomeScreenAPI / App Icon & Themes :- JDE 4.2

I had no icon at all when I switched to "Vodafone Today - Green"

However, I reinstalled the app, and now when I switch theme, the icon was there....

So I cant say this is a "reproducable" problem.

Only thing I noticed was that it took a long time for the theme to be applied, when I first encountred this problem.

Strange....

Re: HomeScreenAPI / App Icon & Themes :- JDE 4.2

Sorry forgot to mention 8100, on Vodafone Uk with O/s version 4.2.1.103

Applying the "Vodafone Today -Green" theme takes a long time, as it creates a new folder for some system apps.

However, now my app icon does not seem to have any problems....
