Is it possible to send some sort of message to another running app telling it to close? Could some of you RIM guys please help me out with this?

I don't think there is any way to do this.

Of course, if you have control over the other application, you could implement a simple global event message to tell the other application the end.

i see. Hmm... there's got to be a way to do it. So there's no way to get some kind of handle to another program and inject an escape key or something into it? Anything like that?

This idea is already there with some application like Berry Locator. In that apps when your device is lost just send a message with some predefined subjects and the apps understand that and respond accordingly. This depends on the software vendors whether they want to have it or not.

Thanks. And what is the mechanism for sending this kind of message? Is it a global event or something like that? Sorry I'm a newbie to BB.
What I'm trying to do is close apps. For example lets say you have 7 programs running and instead of selecting them all and closing them you would just
run this app and it would close them for you.

this is not possible, you have no way to end a program that is not yours.

i dont know about how to send a message but ... i am able to close an application that is not mine ... u need a background application that checks the application which u want to close that either it is open or not ??? and then it closes it ... using event injector class

Even if you figured out how ... I am pretty sure it wouldn't be approved for sale on App World.

They would allow it, many if not all of the "app blockers" that require you to use passwords to open certain apps work in this manner.

I'm pretty sure the app blockers just block the app with a global screen and lock all input....they can't kill the app.
