How can we create widgets in Blackberry like android?

hi, i am new to developing blackberry apps, i am confused at is it possible to create widgets on home screen, if possible how can i do?

What are widgets?  What do they do?  What sort of thing are you looking to do?

the home screen cannot be modified, with the exception of a background picture.
applications are multi-tasking, but always exclusive, you cannot have two applications running next to eachother.

there is no widget support.
most weather apps use the homescreen background to display information iirc.
