Hi Friends,
I am developing an Blackberry client application which will be similar to Facebook application for Blackberry.
Since, this application can be download by any blackberry user who would be subscribed to different BES or BIS, how will the push based architecture of BB work here.
See my previous post 'Push content to devices on different BES' (http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/mes
If that is the case,
How does the FaceBook application for Blackberry work?
Users who download the Fackebook application will definetly not be on the same BES or might be on BIS as well.
Then how will Facebook application receive notificatios and messages instantly using blackberry's push architecture?

Thanks,
Suresh.

Thanks Simon for the reply.
Could please elaborate or provide some links for me to understand 'you are not RIM you will not be able to use the push-architecture with BIS'

Thanks Mark.
Well in that case, would RIM provide support for other vendors like us in developing applications using similar architecture as Facebook. I mean commercially or non-commercially, by providing those private API's and giving access to those private systems.
I checked th RIM site, but was not able to find any contact information to reach their tech support guys. Is there a way to reach them?
Thanks,
Suresh.

If you pay careful attention to what information you get when you aren't logged into the Facebook app you will sort of see what is being done. I am referring to when you aren't logged in you get emails to your BlackBerry address from facebook and when you aren't the app gets a notification.
Depending on what you are trying to do the following thread may be helpful:
