How to add the footer to my screen?

Hi friends,

I am new to BlackBerry.

I have written a small example which have some buttons, text fields,...etc.

I implemented listeners also to respond those ui components.

These are working fine.

Now I want to add the my company name as a footer at the bottom of the screen.

Irrespective of the screen resolution, I want to add the footer. I mean if I run this app on any real device (BB), the app should show the footer at bottom only.

Can any one please help me how to do it?

Thanks,
Manoj.

Re: How to add the footer to my screen?

Hi BBDeveloper,

Thanks, It worked for me.

I have another requirement: I want to add the LabelField at particular position (say at position x,y) for my application. My app has the previous mentioned components.

Is it possible to add the LabeldField at particular position? if so how?

If not how can I achieve this?

Thanks,
Manoj.

Re: How to add the footer to my screen?

Check with setChildPosition. There are few examples listed in this forum too.

Use Search. "Accept Solution" If the problem is resolved.

Hi BBDeveloper,

Thanks, for you reply.

I searched in this forum, couldn't able to get an example.

Can you please show me some piece of code? And also tell me in which class's function it is.

Thanks,

Re: How to add the footer to my screen?

Hi BBDeveloper,

finally I am able to do it. It is setPositionChild(), not setChildPosition().

any way thanks for giving the hint.

I have the following requirements:

1. I should make the app background color to black.

2. all the text fields should be in white.

3. And for some labelFields, I have to put some color (say green).

Can you please suggest me how to do it.

Thanks,
Manoj.

Re: How to add the footer to my screen?

Sorry.. For giving the wrong method name.

Check this KB article to set teh background color for Screen.

For Fields you write your own custom Field and set the Colors. For Both TextFields and LabelFields.

Re: How to add the footer to my screen?

Hi,

setStatus(new LabelField("Enter text here."));

like this u can add text, but it will work only when the screen extends main screen....
