How to create and display browser components?

Hi,

In my application I would like to create and display browser components (image icons) which allow the user to navigate through them in the normal fashion that they would navigate a web browser.

Please suggest any helpful links.  Thanks in advance.

Re: How to create and display browser components?

I've written a browser using the RIM classes and they seem to give most of the capability of the  browser that comes with the phone

up to some issues with the carriers and possible walled garden/preference issues,

import net.rim.blackberry.api.browser.Browser;
import net.rim.blackberry.api.browser.BrowserSession;
import net.rim.device.api.browser.field.*;
import net.rim.device.api.browser.field.BrowserContent;
import net.rim.device.api.browser.field.RequestedResource;

But, I would consider two alternatives, depending on what you are doring. First, you could do this all server side with some small

BB app that just indicates which set of icons are of interest and starts the existing browser. Alternatively, it isn't too hard to write

a  dedicated app that lets you pick from an array of things- see the grid manager that came up earlier.

I turned our browser into a swiss-army-knife or gps stuff and now it is approaching 60kb. LOL.

You can also have a look at the browserfielddemo included with the BlackBerry JDE for a working example.
