With the new look'n'feel of the forms, has anyone figured out how to remove or hide the huge "Welcome" area at the top?  That girl looking at me is starting to give me the creeps.

Not me.  Yep, it is a waste of space isn't it!  I have to say I don't like the new format - we have lost the ability to quickly see who last posted and the new format takes up loads more space on the screen.  What do you think?

Do this format for the consumer forums, leave the developer forums with bare bones so we get as much information as possible.

I thought about opening a thread about this but i didn't want to be the one to whine about it.

I am currently on a laptop with 15.6'' screen and the welcome area takes about 60% if the screen height.

After all the new look is not such a big deal to complain about...Though I miss the good old phpbb style the forums used to be...nowadays everything has heavy graphics and many other modern settings for which I don't really care.

Updates are coming that should resolve both of these issues (big banner and missing last post by column).

I hope i dont get banned for this.

I removed the large banner on the screen with a browser extension called 'Ad block'.

I believe it is on Chrome and firefox.

I actually love the banner.
