How to use build configuration options in the JDE

Hi

I have some question about build options:

1. Could someone explain me: how to use Build -> Configuration -> optons like Private, Debug, Release?

2. Is it possible to add any option in building rules in official release, that all lines like System.out.println(" .... "); will be not shown in debug mode?

Thank you for your response

I'd be interested too!  These Build Configurations don't seem to do anything from what I can see.

I believe that Mike Kirkup was asked this question at DevCon, and said that these were 'hangovers' from the original implementation of the JDE and actually did not do anything.

Re: How to use build configuration options in the JDE

These allow you set quickly activate and deactivate sets of projects.  For example you may have a workspace with 4 projects, where some depend on one another or you want to build different sets for different projects.  You could set up something like:

Private = All projects active

Debug = Project 1 and 4 are active

Release = Project 1, 2 and 3 are active.

You can then switch between then to change the sets of projects that are active.
