We've been struggling with a bit weird issue. Located in Finland we don't have devices connected via RIM's servers but have defined the APNs manually to work in the local GMS/3G networks.
Our application is trying to establish connection primarly via https and fallbacks to http if ssl is not working for some reason. Everything works fine on emulators as well as our devices with manually set APNs, the problems start when people elsewhere, for example States, try it out. For some reason the connection cannot be established and we are not seeing any hint at our servers that someone would be trying to connect.
Is there something obvious we are completely missing and unaware of?
If someone has ideas what could be going wrong with the "properly" set up blackberries, I'd be delighted to get advice.

1. What's the exact URL parameter passed to Connector.open()?
2. What exception are you getting and when (connect fails, read fails, etc.)?
3. In the US, are you using the same Finnish SIM cards or are you using local ones? In the latter case, you need to update the APN settings accordingly.

According to your post ,This may be caused because of the device problem . They may have a false APN settings on their device , If this was the case then tunnel Exception will occur and there will no data communication takes part ..And They should allow permission for HTTP connection for your application this can be done in options -settings -application

as far as i remember you can specify the apn to be used with the connection string
peter has made a post that you should definatively read here: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Develo
