Re: Install BlackBerry plugin into existing eclipse installation

always needs much time to install all needed plug-ins and to configure them. .... source control repositories.... share mylyn-data....  import editor-code-templates....

both ways must be possible: complete install or plugin through update-site

Re: Install BlackBerry plugin into existing eclipse installation

This is indeed a problem.

It is also very confusing for new BlackBerry developpers.

Another problem is that I cannot run the BlackBerry 'Plugin' Eclipse version 1.3  on a different machine from my removable hard drive. My normal Eclipse installation is happy enough to run on several machines from the usb drive but not the BB plugin ...

So it looks like I'll need three (I use three different machines frequently) different installations of the BB plugin (not easy to configure) ...

Re: Install BlackBerry plugin into existing eclipse installation

There is a solution.

Oddly enough, I had the same problem and was unable to solve it. So I downloaded the whole piece, and in the tutorial, there is a step-by-step guide on how to install the plugin in an existing installation.

http://docs.blackberry.com/en/developers/deliverables/16874/index.html?name=Tutorial+-+BlackBerry+Ja...

Click Menu and "Install the plug-in into an existing Eclipse installation".

I hope this helps people; I created my account specifically for posting it :smileywink:

[ Edited ]

In your eclipse

Go to "Help-->Instal new Softaware"  select this

"BB Updates - http://www.blackberry.com/go/eclipseUpdate/3.6/java"

from your drop down like below image.

Eclipse_Update.png

if You don't have that link then

Go to "Help-->Instal new Softaware" and click on add and in that:

Name: BB Updates //here you can write anyting (for naming purpose only).

Loacation: http://www.blackberry.com/go/eclipseUpdate/3.6/java

and click on "OK ". After few seconds you can get the Updated version to update your Eclipse click on your desired checkboxes and then click on next "License agreement is coming" according to that you can get the your desired Updated versions of Blackberry plugIn in your eclipse;
