Installation problems..

Hi All

This app developed using Jde5 , blackberry java and trying to test on a 8520 .

1, COD file won't load onto phone says it cannot view this type of  file!

2, JAD file problem 907 cod file not found ! - well it won't if it can't load it!

3, Jar file 907 invalid jar descriptor missing required attribute midlet-1.

How I see it if I'm using the standard jde5 there really shouldn't be this problem

Do the cod files only load on certain phones or versions of the OS?

In the jde where do you put the information for the midlet-1 attribute?

Re: Installation problems..

how are you trying to load the application?

you can use desktopmanager with alx+cod, javaloader with only the cod (or jad+cod), or OTA with a webserver that recognizes jad/cod filetypes (for example by adding them in .httpaccess).

I usually use javaloader:
javaloader -u load app.cod

Re: Installation problems..

I use email and then download it from there .

Basically its a test phone. I've had other apps work on it before but I've had to edit the jad file. I would have thought that the jde would produce the correct format of file.

Is the alx file for the loading of the cod file?
