Its Regarding the Formatted_Name ...

Hi All,

 

Is there anyone who ever used the Contact.FORMATTED_NAME in any of the BlackBerry OS Versions?

 

I tried to use the same on almost all of the versions of BlackBerry OS  but every time got a FieldNotSupportedException .

 

So if anyone having any idea regarding how to use Contact.FORMATTED_NAME in BlackBerry please share the information with me.

 

its kinda urgent thing !!!

Well i am working on syncing the BlackBerry Contact with some server.

 

And i am getting name as a Formatted name from server, which i can parse in first name ,last name or so.

 

Thus, i want to use the Contact.FORMATTED_NAME so that  i can use the name got from server.

If you are getting the name parsed, you can use NAME_GIVEN to add first name, NAME_FAMILY to add last name and so on...

sorry its my mistake i actually want to say I CANT PARSE THE NAME AS FIRST NAME OR LAST NAME by mistake i wrote i can parse it.

AFA I can understand... you are getting Name like "Mr. Fname Mname Lname"  from your server.

 

if you are getting the name in this fashion... you can split the name with ' Blank space as delimiter ' and store it in a string array... then you can save it using what I mentioned in previous post....
