Hopefully 2010 will be the year RIM releases a version of the JDE or Eclipse plugin for Mac!

Eclipse is already multi-platform! I'd love to see an all-java simulator package so I can move my development environment back to Linux (or even one of the *BSDs!).
However, in the meantime, I'm plugging away at eclipse on Windows since that's where the simulator works.
best regards!

They announced at the 2009 BlackBerry Developer Conference that they are modifying the plugin and JDE so they will work on Mac and Linux and as a plus they confirmed that the Simulators will be Java only so they will work cross platform. The key is patience, they will come out with it eventually.

Any news to this yet?
I just downloaded Eclipse for my Mac. Never used it but excited about it.
Just wanted to see if this is available yet or some kind of timeline.
Thanks

The only Eclipse download so far is for Windows; why not make it generic so any Eclipse client can download it through the standard Eclipse plug-in method. Why use a Windows only installer?

You don't need to use the Windows installer. You can install the BlackBerry plug-ins within Eclipse using our update site. http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/javaappdev
That being said, Windows is currently the only officially supported OS for our development tools.

What's the ETA on Mac development tools? Was this not promised at the last developer conference?

@ eaoliver: That's what I'm curious about as well. Will this be announced on blackberry's developer webpage?
