JVM Error Code 576

One of my applications throws this error if installed and launched on a certain blackberry. Other devices with the same firmware do not have this problem.
There is a list of JVM errors in the KB: http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/796557/800708/800647/What_are_-_JVM_error_codes.html?nodeid=800443
but it does not cover this error.

The device is a BB pearl with terminal plateform : 4.3 093
The following message appears:
"APP error 576 reset"
Mobile restarts
Sometimes this message appears: "Connection to MKT 102 C failed"

Is there any information available about this error code, what could cause it etc?

Re: JVM Error Code 576

Do you know what line of code triggers this error or what action(s) you application is taking at the time?

Re: JVM Error Code 576

At the moment unfortunately not. The device is located in Paris/France while we are located in Hamburg/Germany, i am trying to get the device send over as soon as possible to debug it with the jde attached.

Re: JVM Error Code 576

We have narrowed down the problem:

The company uses two different IT Policies.

With policy 1 in place the application runs fine.

With policy 2 in place while installing the application the application crashs on start with an error 576 (causing the BB to reboot). After rebooting there are two different behaviours: the application crashs on start or it runs exactly two minutes and crashs, both time again with error 576.

The same devices run the software fine if the policy 2 is not present on install.
If you push the policy 2 to the device after installing the application the application runs fine.

I'll get eventlog files this afternoon which will hopefully have some information in them.
There has to be a difference between the it policies that causes the application to crash.

Re: JVM Error Code 576

Not yet, but of course i am eager to find out. I am still waiting for the US people to wake up :smileywink:
I'll try to register a test device with their BES to check the issue myself, too.

Re: JVM Error Code 576

Hello again :smileyhappy:

I am able to reproduce the error now on my own device with it policy settings i received from our customer.
The device is a 8700 running 4.5, all other devices tested so far show the same behaviour - except our Bold test device running 4.6.0.126.

This is the output of the debug console:
App Error 576
PersistentContentException

Note that there is no exception thrown but the device gets a "whitescreen of death" with reset as only option.

I have two persistable objects i use.
The first consists of 26 Strings and 3 booleans.
The second consists of 3 Strings, a boolean and a long, this is put into an vector which is persisted, the size of the vector is limited to 98 elements.

I am able to provide details on the policy and/or the used code via e-Mail.
