Java exception in getRSSI() call [was posted in BB development area]

I am testing out a little app I wrote to monitor cell data and strength.  I am able to use the  RadioInfo.getSignalLevel() call, but the GPRSInfo.GPRSCellInfo.getRSSI() call returns a Java exception (don't have it handy, but I can get it if need be) at runtime.  The exception indicates that the call is unavailable.

Any ideas?

Is the BlackBerry you are testing with operating on a GPRS network?  Note that there are other classes for other network types (CDMAInfo, IDENInfo).

Yes.  Is it required that it is currently *seeing* EDGE for it to populate that data?  Some of the other fields that I am getting from the GPRSCellInfo structure are getting populated when this one is getting the exception.

EDGE coverage is not needed, but some methods do require wireless coverage.  What coverage status is shown (gsm, GSM, gprs, GPRS, edge or EDGE)?  What BlackBerry model and handheld software version are you testing on?
