Localization API

Hi,

I recently used in my application the localization API to get information about my coordinates. As soon as I launch the application on a real device the user is asked to authorize the application to use GPS. Is it possible to avoid that this kind of question is raised?

Re: Localization API

I hope it's not possible

This pop up is raised to the user to prevent him from being spy by some application without knowing it.

Re: Localization API

you should be able to avoid it by asking the user at startup of your program using

http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/5.0.0api/net/rim/device/api/applicationcontrol/Application...

in any case, permissions can only be set by the user, not programatically.

Re: Localization API

I was just wondering if signed applications, as the one I am programming, are required to be allowed to use gps!
