LocationProvider null with "Criteria.POWER_USAGE_LOW" Criteria?

Hi,

A few weeks ago I had a working application that made use of cell-tower location finding (only low accuracy needed for my app), with the following Criteria setup:

_criteria = new Criteria();
_criteria.setHorizontalAccuracy(javax.microedition.location.Criteria.NO_REQUIREMENT);
_criteria.setPreferredPowerConsumption(javax.microedition.location.Criteria.POWER_USAGE_LOW);

This code now returns a NULL location provider when I try it.  What am I doing wrong, has something changed at the RIM service side?

More info: I've found MEDIUM power settings work, but I really need the functionality for devices with GPS modules that hardly ever lock, or devices with no GPS module.

Thanks,

Paul

What BlackBerry Smartphone model and BlackBerry device software version are you testing on?  You can find this under Options, About on the BlackBerry Smartphone.

What carrier is the BlackBerry Smartphone running on?  Does it have a BlackBerry data plan?
