Modifing Existing SMS Text Msgs

Hello, I want to create a translator of sorts. Is there a way to read existing SMS text messages ,edit them, and redisplay them on the screen with the translations completed? I plan on using ApplicationMenuItems to tie into the SMS Text messenger. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Modifing Existing SMS Text Msgs

You should be able to send an existing message to your application using an ApplicationMenuItem and ApplicationMenuItemRepository.

Basically, you place your own context menu item in the Message application. When the user click the MENU key, he sees your menu item, "Translate SMS" (or whatever). When the user selects your menu item, your implementation of ApplicationMenuItem is called, passing your application an Object called "context". You would then cast this object to the "Message" type and extract the text from the message for translation.

See the API docs for Message, ApplicationMenuItem, ApplicationMenuItemRepository.
