Music File types for BlackBerry App

I'm in the process of writing an app that will play a music file when selected.  I don't see any reference to what music file types are supported like wav, mp3, etc.  Obviously, I want to keep the size down as this is likely to increase the overall size of the app.  Any suggestions?

Re: Music File types for BlackBerry App

Thanks for the link.  However, it doesn't show some of the newer model phones like the 9650.  I assume the newer models will support the formats listed?

Re: Music File types for BlackBerry App

i would share that assumption. usually the support is an OS thing, and the OS moves forward.

I haven't found an updated version of this article, and as the data sheets of the devices are a bit limited i don't see a way to know for sure.
