You will all laugh, but I am jumping in head first and am going to develop this application:

You'll either sink or swim :smileyhappy:

  • BB's GUI

Multifacets to this, so it isn't as simple as that

  • Storing Data

Use PersistentStore/Object

  • The Phone(.phone?) API
  • How to make custom buttons
  • Rollovers
  • Trackball Management
  • How to access the Contacts (PIM?)
  • Simple animation?
  • oh, and Java.

Some of those things you can't do directly, to reject calls you have to allow event/key injections and this is a royal pain in the butt, the trackball mostly manages itself, you just need to trap the button presses, as for the rest those are docuemented and there is sample code and should be straight forward more or less (look up "big button net.rim.device" on google)

For a not so simple example of some of the above, I've published some code as GPL to do some of the things you are trying to: http://gpsavenger.svn.sourceforge.net
