Numlock for Data Entry

I have a MIDlet app that does some data entry. Is there a way to have the numbers keys active for data entry when the cursor is on specific fields in a form? Or is there a way to turn the num lock on for an entire form? I have only number entry fields so this would be super cool feature to have.

Re: Numlock for Data Entry

Is it not a RIM specific code? This question raised since you said that is a midlet!

If it is RIM specific code, then you can use FILTER_NUMERIC parameter to an EditField to achieve this..

Cheers..

Re: Numlock for Data Entry

It is a generic midlet with the exception of re-mapping softkeys to the trackball and roll-over buttons.

With a "regular" phone (ex Nokia 6300) the numbers work striaght off, but not with RIM for some reason. You have to hit ALT and then the number. I'm working with a 9000 right now.

I don't know I cannot give comment about generic midlets as I have no experience in that..

thanks for the response -:-)

I'll poke around. There's probably a way to do it.

Re: Numlock for Data Entry

You can use a TextField with the TextField.NUMERIC constraint.  This will allow only numbers to be entered into the field and make number entry the default when you press a key (no need to press alt).
