When I Try to run the Torch simulator on OS6 or OS5 it breaks with a null pointer exception. None of my code is executed. Se attached pic. (Eclipse)
What is not seen on the picture is the popup box showing the number being dialed awaiting me to click on "Answer".
The package is Simpackage-126.96.36.199-9800
Same thing happens when I try the same thing Using OS5 and Torch so it seems likely that the problem is in the simulator. I am running simulators in 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 and 5.0 with no problems
Just checked, happens on the BB JDE too (another pic)
Solved! Go to Solution.

Can you post the exact steps that are triggering the exception?
Have you tried to clean the simulators (Project menu, BlackBerry, Clean Simulators...)?

Clean simulator all
Select run configuration that does not load any listener or other autostarted code except my library
and a manually started program. (Have to have something defined to start simulator)
Blackberry simulator 9880 starts, wait for startup to complete.
Since step 2 indicated that the simulator was alive I took it a step further and run the same procedure with all my apps in place and tried to run the app after the initial failure.
Seemed to work. Listeners started and app worked as expected for some commands.
Not as simple when running debug.

Got it. I was able to reproduce this one. The trick is to press the enter key instead of the green send key.
This will be resolved in a future BlackBerry smartphone simulator release.
You can work around it for now by pressing the green send key instead of enter.
