OSGi deployment + Over-the-air OTA install

[ Edited ]

I'm desperately trying to find out how to host an application for over the air (OTA) install using an OSGi model for deployment.

I'm guessing the web.xml would be used to define the mime-type association, but how does one enable a directory listing.

Ideas?

Welcome to the forums.

Sorry, I don't know anything about OSGi model, so maybe this is irrelevant, but it might help:

Re: OSGi deployment + Over-the-air OTA install

Thanks, but I was wondering more about the OSGi side of things.

Re: OSGi deployment + Over-the-air OTA install

Can you point me at anything that describes this method of deployment?

I'll wager a cold brewsky that it is not supported by BlackBerry.

Re: OSGi deployment + Over-the-air OTA install

I'm still working through the details, but I think a good intro can be found here:

http://java.dzone.com/articles/modularizing-existing-web

which I am trying to mine to determine how static content (which would have been part of a the WebContent folder in J2EE terms) should now be placed.

There was note of this here as well:

http://java.dzone.com/articles/modularizing-existing-web

http://www.eclipsecon.org/2008/sub/attachments/Modular_web_applications_based_on_OSGi.pdf

Thanks again for the help.  If I make any discoveries I'll post them as well.

Re: OSGi deployment + Over-the-air OTA install

As far as I understood your question, you are concerned with the lifecycle of an application. Probably you can emulate it in your own shell app that you deploy to BB. So that it checks with the server and updates itself if must be. There are BB API calls for the update, install, etc.
