I switched from using IIS6 to IIS7 to host my .jad file and now when I connect the Blackberry Browser won't let me click the Download or Cancel Buttons. I have to use SPACE to highlight the download button and then ENTER to select it and the install works fine. The only change was going from IIS6 to IIS7 so I assume some setting in IIS7 is the culprit but darned if I know what it is.
Also, how do you prevent the Blackberry Browser from Caching the information from the last .jad installation? Ie I just installed v1.1 and now I want to download v1.2 from the same link but the browser is helpful and still shows it as the old version unless I delete the cache.
And finally
My version number and Vendor info aren't being put in the .jad file automatically ( I have to manually edit it ). I am using JRE 4.7 and have tried setting these values at the project level by right clicking the project and at the workspace level but the info doesn't make it through to the .jad
Thanks

Sorry can't help with the SPACE/ENTER problem
I don't think you prevent the caching, but you can do a Refresh to get the current jad information.
The jad doesn't seem to get updated correctly when you recompile. Just delete it before recompiling.

I agree with peter_strange.
In JDE jad file won't be updated if you recompile the project.
Remove jad file and recompile the project to get updated jad-file.

Deleting the jad file did the trick, but I am still left with the weird behaviour of the OTA transfer under IIS7.
Even stranger now, someone here is trying to access the .jad for OTA transfer using his Bold and he just gets a blank screen. I had him delete his cache, reboot etc but it will not show up on his Bold ( but it did work ok when hosted under IIS6 ). And it still works semi-ok from the curves in the office ( without being able to click still though ).
All of my reading suggests that all I had to do was add the mime types for .jad and .cod to the server. Is there anything else?

I think it is more than enough.
correct mime specification is enough.
what are saying Microsoft support people ?

Sadly Microsoft support is not as forthcoming as the support on this forum ![]()

Try to access this jad file from device simulator.
Run device simulator, run MDS simulator (to let device simulator to access to the Internet) and in device simulator type the internet address of your jad file.
Try several simulators.
You can download simulators and MDS package here:
