Persistent Store for a large database?

Hi there,

I have a huge (20.000 records) database to store in the Blackberry, I already tried to use in the Persistent Store but it is too slow to load all of the records.

Is there any solution to load this data fast or in chunks?

J2ME Record Stores have filters, does the Persistent Store have something too?

tks in advance.

Re: Persistent Store for a large database?

How large are the records?

Do the records have a key?

Primarily indexed access or sequential?

Primarily read-only or read-write?

some 100 bytes per record.

yes

They are created in the server as sequential primary indexed. But in the device I will not be creating new ones, they are just for search.

Read-only until now.

Re: Persistent Store for a large database?

If you're always accessing the data via the key, you could segment the data into several hashtables (maybe first character of primary key) then store each of the hashtables as a separate persistent object.
