Phones based on Qualcomm 7K

Does anyone have a list of BB models that is based on Qualcomm 7K? Those phones can't do duplex audio except by using the vocoder. Thnx

? You could possibly look up teardowns and see what phones have what CPU.

Hi Aviator168!

 

I don't have a difinitive list, but the short answer is that any CDMA-based phone running Blackberry OS 7.0 or above are Qualcomm 8k-based and support the same number of audio channels as their GSM-based counterparts.  CDMA-based phones running Blackberry OS 6.0 are all 7k-based and obviously do not support the same number of channels.  As for 5.0 or earlier, I am not sure off-hand, but none will support more than 1 simultaneous audio channel.

 

Simultaenous playback and record using the vocoder is only available on CDMA phones running Blackberry OS 6.0 or higher.

The 2 Qualcomm 7K devices I know of are 9650 and 9670

The OS relesae must be 6.0.0.524 or higher to support full duplex audio using the vocoder.
