Problem : Compatiblity mode, Suretype, and non-native editbox.

Hi - I use a non-native editbox in my application ( I know, not the best solution, but

it's the default since we have imported the same code from other platforms ).

I process keyDown events, and according to them i add the right letter to my editbox.

This works fine, but the problem arises with Storm compatibility mode - The suretype keyboard has 2 keys on each button - And since i process the first key, i do not get the

suggestion box which lets the user pick the second key. ( I don't have a storm, so correct me if this is not the default suretype behavior).

The question is then - Is there any way i can get the user to toggle between the keys, and still keep my native editbox? Is the only solution to make the editbox native? Right now users cannot use my App in compatibility mode because of this.

Thanks alot,

Dan.

you will not be able to access the second key, there is no API for it. I had a similar problem once and, after some experiments with disabling sure-type (to multi-tap) using the menu item i decided to use another approach.

Thanks for the reply.

How can you disable suretype to multitype? To my understanding though, this will not effect my application, since anyway i handle each keypress separately.

Anyway, what was the approach you chose in the end?
