Re: Push Service in App

the question is: do you have a blackberry option on your data plan?
maybe this helps:
http://smallbusiness.chron.com/activate-data-plan-blackberry-57343.html

while it differs by carrier, most carriers sell special BB data plans or have an option that you can book extra.

you have to be able to access a email account from your blackberry (without BES).

Re: Push Service in App

Just to confirm, as I understand it if you are not connected to a BES, you should not use Enterprise Activation.  If you are seeing Enterprise Activation then I suspect the phone is an old phone that you have picked up from someone else who used to use it on an Enterprise.  If so, you need to wipe the phone to get rid of the IT Policy that marks it for Enterprise Activation, before you will be able to use it.

Follow the instructions in the link I posted to do this.

[ Edited ]

Sorry I am confused by your posts:

1) "I have searched for the IT Policy ....."

Why did you do that?  Is that what I suggested you do?  What did I suggest you do?  Have you done it?

2) "In manage connection,BIS and BES both shown as not connected."

"BIS is connected"

I do not know what you mean by this.  Can you put up a screen shot to show us where you are seeing this?

3) "Failed to open port, caused by java.io.IOException: Port in use"

Have you tried to start two listeners on the same port?  Restart your device and try again, making sure you only start your listener once.

Re: Push Service in App

port in use could be the result of you running the application multiple times (giving you the "port in use"). when it has registered the port already it cannot do so again.

do you now have a BIS connection?
