Re: Pushing content to the message lis

Ok I gated. I need to use both these 2 example (httppushdemo and messagelistdemo).

My last doubt is if I am not using BES server than what I should need to do.  I knew in this case I need to register my application with RIM and have to used PushApplicationDescriptor/ PushApplication class in my native application. Can I get the all the steps what I need to do if I am not using BES like

Thanks

Re: Pushing content to the message lis

bis push delivers the same content as bes push (if you choose PAP), so there is little to no implementation difference on the client side, only the server side is a bit different.

Re: Pushing content to the message lis

Following is my Conclusion.

  1. In the case of BES and BIS (pap) I don’t need to register my application.
    1. If  I am using following SDK

[https://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/develop/platform_services/push_overview.html]

Than I need to register my app with the following code

/* Push Application Descriptor */
    private static PushApplicationDescriptor _pad = new PushApplicationDescriptor (
            IConstants.Push.BLACKBERRY_PUSH_APPLICATION_ID,
            IConstants.Push.BLACKBERRY_PUSH_PORT,
            IConstants.Push.BLACKBERRY_PUSH_URL,
            PushApplicationDescriptor.SERVER_TYPE_BPAS,
            new ApplicationDescriptor(ApplicationDescriptor.currentApplicationDescriptor(),
                    "PushRegister", new String[] {"push"}, 0, null, 0,
                    ApplicationDescriptor.FLAG_SYSTEM));

And have to use 'PushApplication' in UIApplication class and need to implement onMessage and onStatusChange method?? Correct?

Thanks
