Background. I am Swedish but currently in Spain (Gran Canaria). My Spanish is very rudimentary. I am doing development work on Blackberry. Development has been with simulators and others have performed "physical" testing. My code is for background processing so languages is not a problem.
Telefonica has an offer for a 8520 Curcve that seem attractive. I can se that Telefonica offers a download of :
Package Version: 4.6.1.411
Consisting of:
What does "Software Platform: 4.2.0.118" mean?? is the OS 4.2?? Looking at simulators the choices for OS is 4.6 and 5.0
Must I use the providers version if I use them as a carrier?
Can I switch language to English for the phone and apps?
Can I upgrade to OS 5 from "somewhere else" and still use them as a carrier?
I really would like to be able to test our app on a real OS 5 device and I for sure dont want the phone to talk to me in Spanish.
