Re: Quick question regarding pair up with android

the article claims RIM is "talking" with google, but that is totally different to a fact.
if you read rumor-pages you'll have to be a bit more careful when you decipher the wording. this can sometimes be difficult as a non-native speaker, as i can tell you :smileyhappy:

Hey simon,

Ok, but it will be better for all of us... RIM should pair with any one of them, then only they will regain the market share..

Re: Quick question regarding pair up with android

i disagree.

RIM is currently betting on BB10, all in.
Only if that fails will they have to sell their assets, like BBM-access on other platforms etc.

I think BB10 is a lot better (as an OS) compared to Android and iOS, but if it will succeed largely depends on software.
RIM woke up very late, and as they kind of cut all their ropes to the existing java developers we'll see how the appworld manages when BB10 comes out.

Re: Quick question regarding pair up with android

I am currently doing ~1day/week on BB10, mainly trying to re-develop one of your big flagship applications on C++.

I was in Orlando on the BB Jam and got a DevAlpha (also went to the onTour event), but developing on the simulator is also possible.

It's quite hard for me to get into it, most of the Qt-related resources are a bit old and in nokia forums, and i am not really familiar with c++ beside the basics, but i am making progress.

Re: Quick question regarding pair up with android

Okay. so BB will not support java after the BB 10 release rite? so we need to learn C++ for developing BB 10?

Re: Quick question regarding pair up with android

you can do:
c/c++ (with the awesome Cascades UI framework)
html5/webworks
adobe air
(android java for the android player)

there are some other minor options, python is running on it, for example.
