Radio Access Prompt

Howdy.

I'm accessing CellID, MCC, MNC, and LAC in my application.  I've signed it, but when I start it up on a real device, it prompts me with something along the lines of: "This application is trying to access radio information that may be used to determine your location."  Sometimes it also prompts for the connection to my server.  What gives?

Thanks,

Joe

Signing is only to give you access to APIs on an actual device. The user has to give the application permission to use those APIs.

Check out the ApplicationPermissionsDemo that is included with Eclipse and the JDE.

You need:

ApplicationPermissions.PERMISSION_LOCATION_API

or

ApplicationPermissions.PERMISSION_LOCATION_DATA (As of 4.6)

Re: Radio Access Prompt

I see...so there's no way to programatically ensure permission?
