Re: Reg;Invoking maps in blackberry

Programmatically downloading Google Maps should also be possible using the HttpConnection.

Refer Peter´s forum about HttpConnection which has lots of details.

Re: Reg;Invoking maps in blackberry

In the code,

int mh = CodeModuleManager.getModuleHandle("GoogleMaps");

if mh== 0 , then google maps is not installed

Programmatically download the google maps here if they are not actually installed.

Re: Reg;Invoking maps in blackberry

Hello Sheeluwiki, I should thank you first, your code was very usefull for me, but when I try to debug it is popping up an error saying "Some debug information is missing.Not all applications may be debuggable.Please ensure that you have installed the simulator package that matches the handheld code you are attempting to debug"

Can you please help me out with this?

Re: Reg;Invoking maps in blackberry

Hi,

The same error message was being displayed for me also. Then I realized that I had selected the Release build configuration instead of Debug so I did the following to fix:

1.Eclipse menu: BlackBerry-> Erase Simulator Fiels->Erase All.

2.Set the build configuration to Debug: BlackBerry->Build Configurations...->Debug

3.Rebuild project: Project->Build Active BlackBerry Configuration

Re: Reg;Invoking maps in blackberry

Hi Kiran, Can you provide some ghyan for me to understand how this works? may be in terms of Other example links or some code snippet.

 URLEncodedPostData uepd = new URLEncodedPostData(null, false);
      uepd.append("action", "LOCN");
      uepd.append("a", "@latlon:" + l.getLatitude()
       + "," + l.getLongitude());
      uepd.append("title", l.getName());
      uepd.append("description", l.getDescription());
      uepd.append("subdescription","THIS IS SUB DESCRIPTION");

In the above code we can assign paramaters like latlon,title,descritpion etc. What are the other parameters that can be displayed?
