SVG + VERTICAL_SCROLL = issues

Hello,

The SVGForms example in the SDK makes use of SVG files in order to render a nice looking GUI. One line of code from it is:

super(Screen.NO_VERTICAL_SCROLL);

If i change that so I get a scrolling container then the screen fails to draw itself properly upon scrolling. This has only been tested on the simulator. It just looks like the sceen buffer is not properly cleared before drawing the new pixels corresponding to scrollbar's new poistion. On a second note, the scrollbar appears to never end while scrolling down, and the small down arrow (bottom right) never gets cleared.

Overriding like this did not help:

    /* (non-Javadoc)
	 * @see net.rim.device.api.ui.Manager#subpaint(net.rim.device.api.ui.Graphics)
	 */
	protected void paint(Graphics graphics) {
		// TODO Auto-generated method stub
		graphics.clear();
		super.paint(graphics);
	}

Any suggestions ? should I better drop the SVG GUI alltogether ?

Thank you

Re: SVG + VERTICAL_SCROLL = issues

OpenVG is recommended over SVG.

What BlackBerry Smartphone model and BlackBerry device software version are you testing on?  You can find this under Options, About on the BlackBerry Smartphone.

Re: SVG + VERTICAL_SCROLL = issues

hi,

I was just trying to ramp up from something available as I am a noob in BB development, and this is what I have found accross samples. So, if the SVG rendering is known to have bugs, I think my fastest option would be using regular Screens.

Here is what the simulator says about itself:

Thanks

Re: SVG + VERTICAL_SCROLL = issues

Thanks.  I have been able to reproduce this in both version 6.0 and 7.0 and logged it in Issue Tracker here:  https://www.blackberry.com/jira/browse/JAVAAPI-1909

Re: SVG + VERTICAL_SCROLL = issues

Hi Mark,

I guess it would be better if I discuss my querry rather than wasting time on login.

I have created a Bar Chart using SVG. The number of Bars is larger, so the user have to scroll vertically to view all the Bars. It was fine till OS 5, but when I try the same code in OS 6, it gives problem. Upon scrolling,  the bars seems to be collected on top of the screen,i.e., the above bars are dragging till the top and lower bars also, seems to be dragged till top.What I get is a clustered of overlapping bars on top of the screen.

Hope I have expressed myself clearly.

Your reply would be highly appreciated.
