ScrollEntry

I downloaded JDE 5.0 beta so I could try out a PictureScrollField.

Sample code contains

ScrollEntry[] entries =  ScrollEntry[3];

The compiler doesn't like ScrollEntry saying Cannot Resolve Symbol. I have all the correct imports etc, so what's up?

Re: ScrollEntry

is it in your local API docs? if the method is not in, maybe it was added in a later iteration. compare it to the online 5.0 docs.

Re: ScrollEntry

Not an expert on this by any means but if I unzip the net_rim_api.jar file and take a peek inside at

\lib\net_rim_api\net\rim\device\api\ui\extension\component\ I see the following three files

PictureScrollField.class

PictureScrollField$HighlightStyle.class

PictureScrollField$ScrollEntry.class

Seems to me those '$'s are incorrect and should be '.'s ?

Re: ScrollEntry

Not sure what you mean by "Define it"?

Seems like 5.0 might not work for me anyway since I am using the 8330 simulator which doesn't seem to come in a 5.0 flavor. Instead of re-inventing the wheel ( which sadly seems to be necessary a lot of the time on the BB ) is the an example of writing a horizontal sliding bitmap control out there? ie do what the PictureScrollField in 5.0 does?

Re: ScrollEntry

U need to declare as :-
ScrollEntry[] entries = new ScrollEntry[3];

that solves it.
